FRUIT & VEG IS WHO WE ARE
We are based in Sudbury, Suffolk & trade on Thursdays in Sudbury & Chelmsford High St on Fridays & Saturdays.
HOW FRESH IS OUR STOCK?
Our lorries go to work most nights of the week depending on the time of the year, leaving base at 12am into London where they are loaded with fresh stock & back to the stalls. This is a service of freshness that you just can't get anywhere else.
WHERE DO WE BUY?
We firstly use a wide range of local growers close to our base & surrounding areas. We then use the London Wholesale Markets based in New Covent Garden, Central London & Spittalfields by the Olympic Park.
HOW DO WE KNOW WHAT TO BUY?
Our main buyer has been in the business for over 30 years with family knowledge that has been handed down. We sample all produce before buying.
HOW DO WE TRANSPORT OUR STOCK?
We have our own fleet of lorries which are all refrigerated allowing us to maintain freshness from source.
Every Friday & Saturday for the past seven years we have operated a self service market stall in Chelmsford High Street. We focus on delivering quality
Cox’s Fruit & Veg was started by Darren Cox at about 22 years of age, after travelling round working for lots of different Vegetable Businesses in markets trading in Bury St Edmonds & Ipswich, he decided to set up his own business & eventually started trading in Braintree & Sudbury.
We’ve been trading from our Sudbury stall for over 20 years & Chelmsford for the past 8 years delivering quality produce on a weekly basis.
GOOD NUTRITION IS OUR MISSION.
To keep your body in good health is our duty.
We love working together with our suppliers to deliver the best quality produce to our customers.

When I bought some fruit from you the other day I complimented you on the wonderful display of produce on your stall. The best display I have seen in the town since the the traditional open fronted greengrocers shop on Baddow Road corner closed, and that's more years ago than I care to remember. I think it was called Orrins.
Keep the good work going you are a credit to the town centre.
